An x-linked immunodeficiency syndrome that exclusivesly affects males, although females can be carriers. The syndrome is characterized by life-threatening episodes of infectious mononucleosis, hypogammaglobulinemia, and subsequent development of lymphomas usually b-cell lymphomas) and other lymphoproliferative disorders.
